Keterkaitan antara terumbu karang dengan ikan chaetodontidae: implikasi untuk pengelolaan
Abstract
This study was aimed to explore the relationship between fish Chaetodontidae with the percentage of live coral cover as pre reguisite for appropriate management. The research was conducted Sidodadi waters and Tegal island Province of Lampung in during April to Juni 2010 at 6 stations. Data for coral reef was collected using visual census fish and line intercept transect method which placed parallel to the coastline. The results recorded 115 species of fish Chaetodontidae, representing 2 Genera, namely Chaetdon (91 species), and Chelmon (24 species). The variety of the diversity index, could be an indicator of the quality of coral reefs which ranging from 0,28 to 1,38 and the coral cover between 47.94% to 67.14%. The correlation between the percentage of live coral and fish Chaetodontidae were positive, where the coefficient of determinant (r) of each species more than 80,20 %. Analysis of fish feeding habit Chaetodontidae favorite show that the coral life is very high, in additional all species analyzed zooxanthelae presence of very high compared with plankton, detritus, and algae plankton. Therefore the fish Chaetodontidae highly dependent on living coral as its main food.
