Hubungan konsentrasi dan waktu pemaparan fumigan fosfin terhadap mortalitas larva dan imago Tribolium castaneum (herbst) (Coleoptera: tenebrionidae)
Abstract
Fumigation is one of plant quarantine treatments to rid agricultural commodities from plant pest organisms. Phospine is usually used to treat agricultural products at storage and is effective to several strorage insect pests. T. castaneum (Herbst) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) is one of important storage insect pests that can cause high economic loss. This study was aimed to determine the relationship between concentration and exposure time of phospine to mortality of larva and adults of T.castaneum. The research was conducted in BULOG Jakarta, started from Oktober 2009 until Februari 2010. Four dosage treatments (0,1, 2, 3 g/m3 ) and the exposure time (48,72, 96, 120 h) were used to monitor mortality of larvae and adults of T.castaneum. The interaction between dosages and time exposure to insect mortality was significant. LD95 larvae mortality with exposure time of 48 hours required dosage of 7.22 g/m3, while the adult mortality with exposure time 48, 72 and 96 hours required dosage of 118.25; 2.07 and 1.60 g/m3 respectively.
