Palm oil is a high priority commodity in Indonesia. Development of oil palm plantations in Indonesia became a progam of local government who has a wide area such as Barito Kuala District, South of Kalimantan. Changes in communities agricultural production into oil palm plantations will affect the mode of production and agrarian structure. This research has it purpose to determine the process of agricultural community production change into palm oil and the dinamic of agrarian structures that occur as the process of change in agricultural production. This research also aims to identify the factors that influence changes in agricultural production. The research was conducted in Simpang Nungki Transmigrasion Settlement Unit, Cerbon District, Barito Kuala Regency, South of Kalimantan by qualitative and quantitative approaches. Changes in agricultural community production into oil palm are affected by external and internal communities factors. External factors consist of government policies that support the development of oil palm plantations. While internal factors are the level of public knowledge and level of ownership capital for construction and maintenance the garden.The inclusion process of new capitalist commodities are linked to the dinamics agrarian structure of community. Agrarian structure wich consist of ownership, tenure, and land use has it changes in commodity and production system community. Government, private, and community are expected to cooperate in finding the best solution to the problems which rised in the process of change.
