      Abstract
      New and exciting developments in research of mangosten yellow latex in the past few years greatly contributed to better understanding of the methode to control gamboge in mangosten fruits. A field experiment was conducted to understanding and quantifying the effect of boron (B) and calcium (Ca) application to control yellow latex or gamboges on manggosten fruit. There are five treatments and one control as follow: (1) no fertilizer applied as control, (2) 5.79 kg Ca.tree-1.year-1 applied by soil application (3) 5.79 kg Ca.tree-1.year-1 applied by soil application + 1.553 g B.tree-1 .year-1 applied by soil application, (4) 5.79 kg Ca.tree-1.year-1 applied by soil application + 0.047 g B.tree-1.year-1 applied by foliar application, (5) 1.553 g B.tree-1 .year-1 applied by soil application, (6) 0.047 g B.tree-1.year-1 applied by foliar application. The experiment was laid out on a randomized complete block design. The treatment of 5.79 kg Ca.tree- 1.year-1 applied by soil application + 1.553 g B.tree-1 .year-1 applied by soil application significantly affect to reduced yellow latex in aril till to 0%, reduced yellow latex scoring in aril, increasing boron content in endocarp. However they were not significant affect on fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit fluident, total soluble solid (TSS), total acid titrated (TAT), Ca in leaves, Ca in pericarp, B in excocarp, and B in mesocarp.
       
      Getah kuning merupakan salah satu masalah dan menjadi fakor pembatas volume ekspor buah manggis nasional. Pengendalian terhadap pencemaran getah kuning telah dilakukan dalam beberapa studi, tetapi hasilnya masih terbatas pada penurunan getah kuning pada eksokarp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh aplikasi kalsium (Ca) dan boron (B) terhadap getah kuning pada buah manggis dalam upaya mendapatkan perlakuan yang lebih efektif dalam menurunkan pencemaran getah kuning pada buah manggis. Pelaksanaan percobaan lapangan dilakukan di Desa Karacak, Kecamatan Leuwiliang, Kabupaten Bogor. Perlakuan yang diterapkan dalam percobaan ini sebanyak 6 perlakuan sebagai berikut: (1) tanpa pupuk sebagai kontrol, (2) 5.79 kg Ca.pohon-1.tahun-1 melalui tanah (3) 5.79 kg Ca.pohon-1.tahun-1 melalui tanah + 1.553 g B.pohon-1 .tahun-1 melalui tanah, (4) 5.79 kg Ca.pohon- 1.tahun-1melalui tanah + 0.047 g B.pohon-1.tahun-1 melalui daun, (5) 1.553 g B.pohon-1.tahun-1 melalui tanah, (6) 0.047 g B.pohon-1.tahun-1 melalui daun. Perlakuan disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 blok penelitian. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 2 tanaman sampel. Pengukuran buah untuk variable bobot, diameter, kekerasan, padatan terlarut total (PTT), asam tertitrasi total (ATT), getah kuning dan preparasi sampel untuk analisis kimia dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pusat Kajian Buah Tropika Institut Pertanian Bogor. Kandungan hara jaringan kulit buah untuk Ca eksokarp, Ca mesokarp, Ca endokarp, B eksokarp, B mesokarp, B endokarp dan analisis kimia tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia dan Kesuburan Tanah Institut Pertanian Bogor.
