Populasi Nematoda Parasit Pada Kumbang Elaedobius kamerunicus Faust.
Abstract
Parasitism is a close interaction between two organisms that are detrimental to either party. Weevil Elaedobius kamerunicus is a pollinator of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). One of the parasite of the weevil is nematode. The aims of the research was to study population of parasitic nematode in E. kamerunicus at Cikidang, Sukabumi, and Cimulang, Bogor plantations of PTPN VIII. The research was conducted in June 2010-January 2011. Weevils were collected from male flower of oil palms. Samples of nematode were identified and counted. Parasitic nematode species found in the E. kamerunicus was Elaeonchus partenonema. Populations of E. partenonema were highest in wet season, that were in October (Cikidang, Sukabumi) and November (Cimulang, Bogor). Rainfall has a highest impact on nematode parasite population among parameters measured.
