Penggolongan morfometrik jantan sapi bali, peranakan ongole dan pesisir melalui analisis diskriminan fisher, wald anderson dan jarak minimum D2 Mahalanobis
Abstract
Sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO), sapi Pesisir dan sapi Bali merupakan bangsa sapi lokal Indonesia. Studi morfometrik ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi merupakan upaya dalam melestarikan sumber daya genetik sapi lokal Indonesia karena dapat memberikan ciri karakteristik suatu bangsa sehingga kemurnian sapi tersebut dapat dipertahankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggolongkan ukuran-ukuran tubuh dari jantan dewasa sapi PO, sapi Bali dan sapi Pesisir. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Mitra Tani Farm; Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH) Pancoran Mas, Depok dan Balai Penyuluhan dan Peternakan Lengayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat. Pengukuran meliputi panjang badan, lebar dada, dalam dada, lingkar dada, tinggi pinggul, lebar pinggul, tinggi pundak, lingkar pergelangan kaki, lebar tulang tapis dan panjang kelangkang. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji T2 Hotelling, analisis Diskriminan Fisher, penggolongan Wald-Anderson dan jarak minimum D2 Mahalanobis. Indonesian local cattle as local cattle genetic resources require special attention for conservation purpose as well as meat-producing. Study on the morphometric characteristics of the local cattle Indonesia is one of the scientific information that can be used as the basic for development in conservation efforts. This study aimed was at characteristing the body size of male Bali, PO and Pesisir cattles. The experiment was conducted at Mitra Tani Farm; Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH) Pancoran Mas, Depok and Balai Penyuluhan dan Peternakan Lengayang South Coastal District of West Sumatera. The animals observed were 32 Bali, 46 PO and 17 Pesisir cattles. Measurements include body length, chest width, chest depth, hearth girth, hip height, hip width, wither height, cannon circumference, thurl width, and rump length. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, T2 Hotelling analysis, Discriminant Fisher analysis, Wald-Anderson classification and minimum distance D2 Mahalanobis. The result of the analysis of T2 Hotelling and Discriminant Fisher analysis showed differences in body measurements of male PO vs Pesisir cattles, PO vs Bali cattles and Bali vs Pesisir cattles. Classification of Wald-Anderson analysis shows that there were classification error between PO vs Pesisir catlles and Bali vs Pesisir cattles, while the male PO vs Bali in the same classification. Minimum distance D2 Mahalanobis analysis showed the formation of the distance nonsimilaritas morphometric measurements bodies of PO vs Bali catlles for 5.379, PO vs Pesisir cattels for 5.383 and Bali vs Pesisir cattles for 5.54. Dendogram nonsimilaritas morphometric provided distribution of male body size cattle. Male PO and Bali cattles from one group and one male Pesisir cattle formed another group. Conclusions obtained in this study is the discovery of the classification of male Bali, PO and Pesisir cattles based on body measurements, thus providing information morphometric measures of closeness between a male cattle body.
