      Abstract
      Aquilaria malaccensis is forest plant species that have substances of resin and economic valuable. For many people and industry, resin usually called "gaharu", used for medicine like stomachache drug, asphyxia, pregnant lasing and rheumatism; industrial raw material of parfume and cosmetic also complement of custom need. In technology progress and increasing of agarwood exploited make agarwood commodity has been decrease. So, by CITES its classified as one of the scare crop (Appendix II). Various method propagation had been conducted including breeder of vegetatif in-vitro culture (biotechnology) with it varioous modification treatment of griwth subtance regulator, condition of other growth factor and also environment bur rooting agarwood/gaharu still being one of many problems in this propagation method. Bacterium application of Methylobacterium sp. which have been reported to yield phytohormon or growth subtance regulator that needed for growth and development plant that hpefully can be one of alternative way to overcoming constraint in culture in-vitro . The aim of this research are to study the influence, to decide the strain and to decide the efective soaking time of Methylobacterium sp. for growth and rooting of Aquilaria malacceensis (gaharu) shoot
