Abstract

Butt shape is a profile of hind leg beef cattle related to carcass conformation. Ausmeat divides butt shape into five cattegories (score A, B, C, D and E). Eventhough a good butt shapeis not always associated to high meat yield, the use of butt shape has an economic influence in marketting. Carcass with butt shape A, B, and C have higher selling price than carcass with butt shape D and E.
