Mapping the Suitable Habitat for Rafflesia patma Blume in Cagar Alam and Taman Wisata Pangandaran

Abstract

Rafflesia patma is one of rare and protected plant species and therefore it should be conserved. Unfortunately, its spatial distribution and non spatial habitat information have not been documented. Due to this facts, it is an urgent needed to map its habitat suitability. This objectives can be achieved by using the Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing Tecnology. The aim of the research is mapping suitable habitat for R. patma based on the physical variables such as altitude, slope, distance from river, soil type and Leaf Area Index (LAI)
