Abstract

This experiment was conducted to obtain the best regression model to determine milk production at first lacctation by using heart girth measurement at various ages. Milk production record (to 305 days) and hearth girth measurement record (at 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 month age of fries Holland cows during 1994-2000) were month age has the biggest correlation coeficient: 0.342 (p<0.01) then was followed y heart girth at 4 (0.257), 18 (0.246) and 10 month (-0.157) age which significantly affected milk production at first lactation. It is concluded heat girth maesurement at month age can be used to estimate milk production at first lactation by equation of linier regression Y=4,145+95.2X.
