Identifikasi phytophthora penyebab penyakit busuk pucuk pada tanaman vanili

Abstract

Vanilla shoot rot disease caused by Phytophthora has been reported in Java and BaIi, but the information about the species has not been reported yet. This research was conducted by measured morphological characteristics i.e. diameter of colony, the colony type, the mating type, sporangium shapes and size, the branching type and the length of sporangiophores. The result showed optimal temperature for growing of the tested isolates was 25 OC. The colonies types are varying from thin petaloid to thick with star or rosaceous. The mating types of isolates were A]. Sporangiurn sizes (length x breadth) was varied from 30-125 pm x 17.5-37.5 pm, the length of papil was 2.5-7.5 pm, and the shapes are eIlipsoid, obpyriform, ovoid, and spherical. The branching type of sporangiophore was simpodial with 25-250 prn long. The result showed all isolates were categorized as Phytophthora capsici.
