      Abstract
According to van Wambeke and Forbes (1986) land unit is a placement of land unit because their mostly same genetic factor (biotic and abiotic) and genesis process. Soil is closely related with landscape and landform, so different land unit (system, subsystem, and landform category) is also different in soil unit, probably as a soil of each category (order, suborder, great group, subgroup, family, and a soil series) mentioned the processes ofland and soil genesis. Differences in soils reflect differences in soil properties and characteristics, which determine differences potency and use. Therefore, knowledge on soil properties, characteristics, and soil classification is needed. This research was intended for conducting correlation study between soil, land, and corn growth on the toposequence in volcanic landscape. The objective was producing correlation data between soil families, landform, and the growth of hybrid corn CPI 2 on the toposequence. This research used soil classification method based . on Keys to Soil Taxonomy (Soil Survey Staff, 2006) up to the family category, landform cassification (Desaunettes, 1977), and corn crop performance test with block domized design. Landscape in the study area was divided into three landforms based on position and slope of the land, namely peak (PI), slope (P2) and valley (P3). Based on Soil Taxonomy USDA (2006) and landform classification (Desaunettes, 1977), Pedon PI belong to Typic Kandiudox, very fine, kaolinitic, acid, isohyperthermic, within rolling volcanic plain, andesite parent material, levelland, not incised landform (Va.2.1.0), Pedon P2 belong to Inceptic Hapludox, very fine, kaolinitic, acid, isohyperthermic, within rolling volcanic plain, andesite parent material, rolling, not incised landform (Va.2.2.0), Pedon P3 belong to Typic Kandiudox, very fine, kaolinitic, acid, isohyperthermic, within rolling volcanic plain, andesite parent material, levelland, not incised landform (Va.2.1.0). Based Duncan's test that were not affected by differences in block (degree of slope), because of the same name up to suborder.
