      Abstract
The study was conducted to identify physiological response of garut sheep in different treatments (shearing and not shearing) and sex (male and female) in semi intensive system. The experiment was carried out at the PT Indocement Farm in Citereup district of Bogor regency, West Java. Design of this experiment was completely randomized design factorial with factor A was shearing, and factor B was sex. The parameters observed included body temperature, heartbeat, respiration rate and blood profile. The result showed that shearing significantly (P<0,01) effect on body temperature in the morning. Body temperature of shearing sheep (37.97±0.28 0C) was lower than not shearing (38.47±0.310C). In the afternoon showed that shearing significant (P<0.05) effect on body temperature. Body temperature of shearing sheep (38.45±0.20 0C) was lower than not shearing (38.70±0.25 0C). Heartbeat of male (86.72±6.47 rate/min) was significant higher than female (81.24±4.12 rate/min) in the evening. Respiration rate of male (24.08±2.78 rate/min) was significantly lower than female (28.16±2.20 rate/min) in the morning. For shearing sheep was lower than not shearing in the morning and afternoon. In the evening both male and female sheep that are not shearing was not significant, but significant with respiration of male sheared and female sheared. Stress indicated in male sheep and proved from neutrophils/lymphocytes ratio (0.88±0.36). Conclusion of this experiment showed that shearing, sex and time effected to the physiological response.
