Penerapan good farming practices sapi penggemukan di PT lembu jantan perkasa Serang-Banten

Abstract

Good farming practice (GFP) is a guidline for good beef cattle raising in order to improve the existing cattle fattening operation. The scope of GFP in beef cattle farming includes four aspects: facilities, production processes, environmental protection and supervision. PT Lembu Jantan Perkasa is one of beef cattle company engaged in breeding, fattening and cattle trading. The application of GFP becomes very important for these companies to produce environmentally freindly beef cattle with high productivity. In general PT Lembu Jantan Perkasa has a play well four aspect: facilities, production processes, environmental protection and supervision. As a results the beef cattle has performance very well in feedlot as indicated by high daily gain: steer 1,67 kg/day, bull 1,48 kg/day, heifer 1,36 kg/day in 2010. These were several aspect need to be consider in order to improve the implementation GFP. Those include: site plant building and biosecurity.
