      Abstract
Paper play an important role in the modern life. In consequence, the demand of raw material increase in line with the time. To fill the demand, used paper can be utilized after processing to pulp. This process called deinking that will give environment pollution due to high content of metals come from the ink. One of environment solution is employing microbe to degrade the metals. Technology in using microbe to this purpose called bioremediation. One of product use as bioremediation is wastetreat™. The study is aimed to observe whether wastetreat™ can be used to deal with metals content in sludge deinking or not. One kg of the sludge mixed homogenically with 3,5g, 7g, 14g wastetreat™, respectively. The treatment were compare to application of 7ml EM4® and non treatment as is control. Variabel of pH and levels of heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, and Cr) were measured at each 0, 2, 5, and 8 days of incubation. The result showed that treatment of wastetreat™ does not cause a significant decrease in pH from day to day. As for the reduction of heavy metal content, wastetreat™ in dosage of 14g was the most effective in decreasing heavy metals Cu, Zn, and Pb after 8 days of incubation. Decreased levels 26,4%, 22,1% and 20%, respectively.
