Model persamaan alometrik biomassa dan massa karbon pohon Akasia mangium (Acacia mangium Willd.): studi kasus pada HTI Akasia mangium di BKPH Parung Panjang, KPH Bogor, Perum Perhutani Unit III Jawa Barat dan Banten
Abstract
Increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), perfluorocarbons (PFC) and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) in the atmosphere already have environmental impacts caused by rising air temperature at the earth. Forests can absorb greenhouse gases by way of transforming CO2 from the air to deposit the carbon stored in trees. Acacia mangium is a fast growing tree species having ability to tolerate wide-range soil conditions, which make this spesies attractive for tree planting in critical lands. This research was conducted in Acacia mangium plantation forest at Parung Panjang Sub-District, Bogor District, Perum Perhutani Unit III, West Java and Banten. The objective of this research are (1) to learning the carbon content of tree biomass component, (2) to learning the allometric equation models for biomass and carbon mass estimation and (3) estimating the carbon stocks of Acacia mangium plantation. Selection of sample trees in each diameter class were conducted by purposive sampling, starting from diameter class 0-5 cm to those of 35-40 cm. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine the carbon content of tree biomass component. Selection of the best equation was conducted by using allometric regression based on the highest R2(adj). The results of the case study on Acacia mangium stands, showed that there is a differences in carbon content of tree biomass component (roots, stems, branches, twigs and leaves). The highest carbon mass is in the main stem of the tree, and the lowest is in the leaves. The model of tree biomass allometric equation of Acacia mangium is W = 0,140928 D2,31 and tree carbon mass allometric equation is C = 0,060255 D2,39. Potency of carbon stocks in Acacia mangium plantation forest at Parung Panjang Sub-District was 25,4183 ton/ha.
