Aplikasi dan evaluasi citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m dan 12,5 m untuk identifikasi tutupan lahan: studi kasus di Kabupaten Brebes, Cilacap, Banyumas dan Ciamis
ALOS PALSAR is a remote sensing satellite to record the surface of the earth owned by Japan and it was launched by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in January 2006. The image of ALOS PALSAR refers to highquality of microwave sensor that used a radar technology. The sensor of ALOS PALSAR has 12,5 m and 50 m spatial resolution. The research for applications of ALOS PALSAR using land cover data are still very limited. Therefore, it needed a continued research about the capability of ALOS PALSAR 12,5 m and 50 m resolution imagery to identify the land cover. This research was located in Brebes, Cilacap, Banyumas and Ciamis. Analysis of ALOS PALSAR 12,5 m and 50 m resolution imagery was done using visual analysis and digital analysis. Visual analysis was done based on appearance of images and referring to interpretation element, while digital analysis is conducted using discriminant method. Evaluation of the accuracy was conducted by Kappa accuracy, overall accuracy and separability value. Visual analysis of ALOS PALSAR 50 m and 12,5 m resolution image produced 9 land cover classes, such as water body, a young plantation forest, middle aged-old age plants, mixed gardens, young rubber plantations, middle aged-old rubber plantations, settlements, cultivated fields/flooded and vegetated fields. Kappa accuracy of the visual classification is 63,52% and overall accuracy of the visual classification is 67,57%, while the digital analysis produce 5 land cover classes, such as water body, trees, mixed gardens, settlements and fields with 64,2% proportion correct for 50 m resolution image and 65% proportion correct for image 12,5 m resolution image.
