Evaluasi Koefisien Dan Laju Inbreeding Pada Kuda Militer Di Detasemen Kavaleri Berkuda (Denkavkud) Parongpong, Bandung

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the inbreeding coefficient and its rate of military cavalry horse were reared by Denkavkud. There are totally 55 horses from Kinak and 24 horses from Kikav were observed as the sample size. The inbreeding coefficient was calculated using of pedigree analysis and inbreeding rate per generation based on the population structure. The result of inbreeding coefficient was 0,099 and 0,091 for Kinak and Kikav population while the inbreeding rate was 2,89% and 0,34% per generation, respectively. Mean of withers height and birth weight foals in last decade was 90,656±4,097 cm and 38,551±3,060 kg. Coefficient and inbreeding rate in Denkavkud didn’t decrease withers height and birth weight foals. There is no depression inbreeding, because it is following by selection.
