Peranan sektor perikanan dalam pengembangan wilayah Kabupaten Belitung
Abstract
Fisheries sector is expected to be a strategic sector for regional development in Regency of Belitung in the future, based on its natural resources. The purposes of this study are: (1) identifying the existing and potential of fisheries sector, (2) identifying the role of the fisheries sector in development, (3) identifying the fisheries sector linkages with other sectors in regional development system, (4) exploring the perceptions of stakeholders regarding fisheries development priorities, and (5) formulating the guidelines of fisheries sector development. This research was conducted in the Regency of Belitung, Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, using primary and secondary data. The analyses used are descriptive analysis, Input-Output (IO), and Hierarcy Analytical Process (AHP). The results showed that fisheries production reaches 41,947.10 tons/year and still be able to be increased up to 85,252.90 tons/year. Fisheries sector contributed the highest in gross regional domestic product (GDP) up to 18.07%. However, it has a low linkages with other sectors. Main activities in fisheries development are fishing, aquaculture and processing. Fisheries development policies directed to increase the amount of production, and enhance the role and linkages of the fisheries sector with other sectors.
