Genetic diversity of sago palm in Indonesia based on molecular marker of chloroplast genome
Abstract
Tanaman sagu (Metroxylon sp.) mempunyai kemampuan untuk menghasilkan karbohidrat yang tinggi dibandingkan dengan tanaman penghasil karbohidrat lainnya. Indonesia mempunyai areal pertanaman dan hutan sagu yang terbesar dan memiliki diservasi genetik sagu yang tinggi. Sago palm (Metroxylon sago Rottb.) has high capability for accumulating carbohydrate in their trunk, if we compare with the others plant produce carbohydrate. Indonesia has the biggest sago palm plantation and sago palm forest as well as rich of genetic diversity. Genetic diversity of sago palm study in Indonesia was focused by using molecular chloroplast genome, nuclear genome, and genes encoding strach biosynthesis markers.
