Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Tanaman Obat Terhadap Performan Dan Gambaran Histopatologi Hati Ayam Broiler

Abstract

Herbal medicine are very famous now, as the substitute of chemical and sintetic drugs. The purpose of the study was to observe the effect of herbal extracts treatment on the chicken performance and the histophatology of liver. This study used 40 day old chick (DOC) and the treatment was given for four weeks. The weekly data of chicken body weight was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Scoring system was used for analyzing the lesion of the liver. Results of this study indicated that the chicken body weight was significantly influenced by herbal extracts treatment (p<0.05) compared to negative control. Histopathologically, treatment with sambiloto extract showed the best result in the liver histopathology and treatment results while combination of the adas, temu ireng and sambiloto extract indicating the poor condition in the liver histophatology. Based on the study, it can be concluded that the temu ireng extract showed the best result for chicken performance and sambiloto extract showed the best result for liver histophatology.
