Analisis penggunaan bom dalam penangkapan ikan di kecamatan Kao Utara Kabupaten Halmahera Utara

Abstract

Fishing gear used by the fishermans of North Halmahera district to conduct fishing is very diverse, good for catching pelagic, demersal, and reef fish. The dominant fishing gear used by fishermen are fishing yield, multiple hand line, gill nets, etc., using a fleet of boats is simple until a boat or ship with a capacity of 10 gross tonnage. However, the use of destructive fishing gear, the environment still numerous in some areas of North Halmahera waters such as the use of bombs. The tool is dropped into the water contained a lot of fish, and causing an explosion that resulted in the death of small fish and large around the blast site. This action is performed not only in shallow waters sea, but also performed in deep waters sea. This action is very harmful to the environment and fishermen. The fish that have not been feasible arrested will die, and the risk of disability or until death can be experienced by the fishermans.
