Kajian pengembangan peternakan sapi potong di Kecamatan Agrabinta, Kabupaten Cianjur

Abstract

The objective of the research were 1) to know characteristic of beef cattle farmer in related to management of beef cattle farming, 2) to analyzed technical potency of beef cattle farm in Agrabinta Sub-District, 3) to analyzed farmer earning in beef cattle farm business , 4) to formulate the strategy of beef cattle development in Agrabinta Sub-District. Primary data obtained by direct interview with the beef cattle farmer, used questionnaire as the tool. Secondary data obtained from relevant institutions sources that related with the topic of the research, data analyzed descriptive corelation method. Base on data analyzed showed that technical management of beef cattle farm by farmer characterize still in the traditional system. The return cost ratio (R/C ratio) of beef cattle farm business analysis, showed that ratio as 1.51 value. It means that the beef cattle farm business were profitable. Beef cattle farm income contributed 11.11 persen to total family income or Rp. 1,054,020.26. The results from Added Capacity of Ruminant Population (ACRP) analyzed at Sinarlaut village, Bojongkaso village, Tanjungsari village, Wanasari village, Mekarsari village, Sukamanah village respectively were -903.58 Animal Unit (AU); 242.44 AU; -340.40 AU; 5096 AU; -337.90 AU, the positive value explain that in these villages can accept more beef cattle number, such Bojongkaso village and Wanasari village. The strategy of beef cattle farming development in Agrabinta Sub-District were showed at Growth Oriented Strategy, it can be implemented by making Demonstration Plot of beef cattle farm intensification, recruit more animal health officer to optimalisation of services and cooperation with other relevant institutions.
