Analisis faktor yang berhubungan dengan berat bayi lahir dan pengaruhnya terhadap status gizi anak Usia 6 - 11 bulan di Sumatera:
Abstract
More than 20 million infants worldwide, representing 16% of all births, are born with low birth weight, 90% of them are in developing countries. Basedon the results of Riskesdas 2007 the prevalence of Low Birth Weight (LBW) in Indonesia was 11,5%. Low birth weight infants generally have slow growth and development. The condition may get worse if they lack energy and nutrient intake, get improper rearing pattern and often suffer from infection. In the long run LBW infants tend to have poor nutrition status and malnutrition. The aim of this study was to analyze factors related to birth weight and their effects on 6 - 11 months old infants nutritional status. This study used Riskesdas data, 2007. The datas collected by surveys method, located in 10 provinces in Sumatra with a total sample of 1.749 households that have 6 - 11 months old infants. The results showed prevalence of low birth weight was 4,7% and nutrition problems in infants of 6 – 11 months were severe under nutrition 4,8%, severe wasting 16% and severe stunting 18,8%. Childrens born with low birthweight are more likely to undernutrition, wasting and stunting compare to children born with normal weight. Factors influencing birth weight are antenatal care, maternal education, maternal age and parity. Factors influencing the infant nutritional status are growth monitoring, birth weight, environmental sanitation, infection diseases, maternal nutritional status, health services utilization, access to health services and household expenditure.
