      Abstract
Application of agricultural intensification on the lack of land due to increasing human population could decreased organic matter so that land productivity also decreased. The decreasing of organic matter can be pusshed by adding organic matter into the soil using any kind of waste product, such as plants, manure etc. as organic amelioration which produced by composting. With the development of biotechnology. now composting technic can be improved by vermicomposting namely; composting organic matter technic by the help of earthworm. One of orgnic matter that can be use in vemicomposting is chicken manure. Fresh chicken manure contain significant amounts of inorganic salt and ammonia which may kill earthworm, but after removal of these materials or mixed it with another organic matter, earthworm can grow well and produce compost with high nutrient. The purpose of this research is to learn about the effect additional of lime. laves of Gliricidia maculata (H.B.K) and soybean curd sludge (SCS) on the quality of vermicompost with medium chicken manure mixed with rice straw. This research was conducted in Soil Physics and Conservation Laboratory. Soil Science Departement, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agriculture University. from Allgust to December 2000. Analysis of chemical, physical and biological vermicompost were conducted in Chemical and Soil Fertility Laboratory. Soil Physics and Conservation Laboratory, and Soil Biology Laboratory. Soil Science DepartemenL Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agriculture University. This research used completely randomize designed experiment with 10 treatments. namely AOPO (without lime + without leaves of Gliricidia maculala (H.B.K) and soybean curd sludge (SCS», AOPI {without lime + 5% of soybean curd sludge (SCS»). AOP2 (without lime + 10% of soybean curd sludge (SCS)). AOP3 (without lime + 5% of Gliricidia sp. leaves). AOP4 (without lime + 10% of Gliricidia sp. leaves). AIPO (l % of lime + without leaves of Gliricidia maculala (H.B.K) and soybean curd sludge (SCS», Al PI (l % of lime + 5% of soybean curd sludge (SCS». AIP2 (1% of lime + 10% of soybean curd sludge (SCS», AIP3 (1% of lime + 5% of Gliricidia sp. leaves) and Al P4 (1 % of lime + 10% of Gliricidia sp. leaves). with 3 repetition of each treatment, so there were 30 sets of experiment.
