Penggunaan Metode Triangle dan Concentration Count dalam Penelitian Sebaran dan Populasi Gibbon (Hylobatidae)
Abstract
Studies on wildlife in the nature need methodological approaches which can produce precise and accurate data. In accordance with the increasing number of scientists who are Interested In studying wildlife in nature, many methods have been developed. This paper discusses the Triangle and Concentration Count methods whlch are appropriate for the observation of the wildlife distribution and population, specially for the wildlife species which frequently produce sound as a tool of communlcatlon or a spacing/teritorial mechanism. There are two ways in using those methods 1.e. paralel and series. Selection of whlch way to he used depends on the size of the area, availability of time and the numer of observers. The msethods has been applied in the study of arhorcal prrmates such as Siamang (hylobates syndactylus RAFFLES). in Way Kambas National Park. Lampung (1984). Mueller's gibbon(H. muclleri MARTIN) In Rukit Soeharto Protection florest (1987) and Dark handed gibbon(H. agilis F.CUVIER)) In Pasir Mayang. Jambi (1990).
