Efek Paparan Insektisida Deltametrin Pada Kerbau Terhadap Angka Gigitan Nyamuk Anopheles vagus pada Manusia
Abstract
Study was carried out to observe the effect of deltamethrin insecticide application against the biting activity of Anopheles vagus, on human being at Cikarawang, Bogor, since September to November 2004. Insecticide (deltamethrin) was used as lotion and rubbed over the buffaloes body followed by observation the biting activity of mosquitoes (with emphasize on Anopheles mosquitoes group) indoor and outdoor as well. The efficacy of delthamethrin against the Anopheles mosquitoes was observed on the buffaloes prior of trials. Eigth species of Anopheles was collected namely, A. vagus, A. indefinitus, A.aconitus, A.nigerimus, A. annularis, A. barbirostris, dan A. tesselatus. A. vagus is dominant and collected for 743 (84,82 %) over the all collections. The protection period of deltamethrin on the body of buffaloes reached out of 95 % for only 3 days. The protection on the humans body was only observed for Anopheles vagus. Utilization of systemic insecticides on the buffaloes should be attempted to gain the optimal results, in protecting the mosquitoes biting activity.
