Local feedstuffs are rarely available as soybean meal (SBM) alternative in poultry diet. Consequently, the amount of imported SBM is increasing as the increase of poultry population. Palm Kernel Meal (PKM), one of by products from palm oil processing industry, has high potency as feedstuffs due to its availability. PKM, however, has combination problems of shell contamination, containing high non starch-polysaccharide (NSP) dominated with mannan molecules, and low protein content which causes the utilization of PKM in poultry diet is very limited (< 3%).
