Superovulation Rate and Embryo Production on Simmental and Limousin Cattle by Using Various FSH Doses.
Abstract
Superovulation and embryo transfer are the technique of Manipulation reproduction which aim to increase the population of animal rapidly. This research was have purpose to determine the optimum FSH doses to use, toward superovulation rate and embryo production on Sirnmental and Limousin cattle. This research was done in Livestock Embryo Institution Cipelang Bogor on October until December 2002. The secondary data was being analyze were from seven Limousin and six Simmental wich have been superovulated by 17.6 mg FSH dose and four Limousin and three Simmental which have been superovulated by 15 mg FSH dose. The observed parameters of this research were response of superovulation (tested by Chi-Quadrat test), corpus luteum (CL) total, embryo and collected ovum, transferable and untransferable embryo of proportion (analyze by analysis of variance with 2x2 factorial design, factor A was breed, factor B was variation of hormon doses), activity of a couple ovarium (left and right) and the total grade D embryo and unfertilize ovum (tested by t-student), recovery rate (analyze by descrived analyze). The relation between CL total and transferable embryo (analyzed by corelation and regression). The result showed that the interaction between Simmntal and Limousin Cattle wich have been superovulated by 17.6 mg and 15 mg FSH doses was not significantly influence the CL total, embryo total and collected ovum, and transferable embryo proportion. The proportion for untransferable embryo by using 17.6 mg FSH dose (40.03%) was give lower value (P<O.OI) than 15 mg FSH dose (75.20%). The respon of superovulation rate and the comparison of grade D embryo wich unfertilize ovum were not significant, recovery rate value on this research was give score mOre than 100%. It means that all ovum wich have been yeild from superovulation program could be collected. The correlation between CL and transferable embryo was 0.591 with regression model y=1.90+0.375x.
