Simulation model of Teak Forest Management (Tectona grandis L.f.) at Bagian Hutan Bangilan KPH Jatirogo Perum Perhutani Unit II East Java.

Abstract

KPH Jatirogo is one of business unit of Perum Perhutani unit II East Java. Because of it’s heavy forest destruction happened on late Orde Baru, it’s forest stand potency is decreasing rapidly, which is marked by the reducing of it’s applied cutting cycle from 80 years with minimum cutting age (UTM) at 70 years to 70 years cutting cycle with 60 years UTM. The reduction of forest stands potency also causing the decreasing of KPH’s income and project reasonability value described by NPV. Therefore, its important to consider other business alternative project combined with wood production which can maximize company’s earning and NPV. The business alternative considered in this study are carbon sequestration project under REDD (Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Degradation) scheme, porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain) cultivation, and rumput gajah (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) hay cultivation.
