      Abstract
NADA KARIMA.

NADA KARIMA. The Impact of Seasonal Changes and the Resilience Status of Fishermen's Families (A Case Study in Jatimalang Village, Purworejo Regency). Supervised by TRIDOYO KUSUMASTANTO and OSMALELI. Seasonal changes have a significant impact on capture fisheries activities, as experienced by fishers in Jatimalang Village, Purworejo Regency. These changes have led to heightened income uncertainty for fishers. This study aims to (1) examining fishers’ perceptions of the impacts of seasonal changes in Jatimalang Village, (2) estimating changes in fisher households’ income due to seasonal variations and the contribution of fishers’ wives to household income, (3) analyzing the resilience status of fisher households in responding to the impacts of seasonal changes in Jatimalang Village, (4) formulating adaptation strategies and enhancing the resilience of fisher households in response to seasonal changes. This study used a case study method. Quantitative descriptive analysis with a Likert scale, fishermen's income analysis, analysis of the income contribution of fishers’ wives, the fisher resilience index, and Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) used as data analysis methods. The results indicate that fishers acknowledged the impact of seasonal changes, with an average score of 3.09 on a 4.00 scale. Fishermen's income decreased by 51.71% or IDR 1,728,197 per month during the harvest season, and by 69.18% or IDR 1,097,819 per month during the lean season. Fishers’ wives contribute to earning a livelihood, with an average contribution of 25.28% to the total household income. The assessment of fishers’ resilience showed an average resilience index of 0.76, categorized as resilient. Adaptation strategies and efforts to enhance fishers’ resilience are implemented by supporting fishing operations through the provision of fishing gear, which includes improving fishing catch productivity using GPS devices and millennium gillnets, as well as by providing technical guidance for the establishment of boat repair workshops.
