      Abstract
Perlakuan meliputi tanah (kontrol), tanah : arang sekam (1:1), tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang ayam (1:2:1), tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang ayam (1:1:2), dan tanah : pupuk kandang ayam (1:1) (v/v).

Goeppertia ‘Silver Plate’ or previously known as Calathea is an ornamental plant belonging to the Marantaceae family. Studies related to planting media in Goeppertia cultivation are still limited, therefore identification and analysis of the optimal planting media for Goeppertia plants are needed. The study was conducted using a single-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Treatments included soil (control), soil: rice husk charcoal (1:1), soil: rice husk charcoal: chicken manure (1:2:1), soil: rice husk charcoal: chicken manure (1:1:2), and soil: chicken manure (1:1)(v/v). The results showed that the soil media (control) provided the best plant performance, visually and aesthetically marked by the highest score, total chlorophyll content, chlorophyll b, and the highest root volume. Control planting media is the best and most economical choice for general cultivation, while a combination of soil, rice husk charcoal, and chicken manure (1:2:1) or (1:1:2)(v/v) can be used for vegetative growth.
