      Studi Morfologi Dan Kandungan Antosianin Braktea Pisang Dari Genus Musa Dan Musella Di Thailand

      Abstract
      Pisang (Musa spp. dan Musella spp.) memiliki keragaman morfologi yang tinggi, terutama pada warna braktea jantan yang dipengaruhi oleh kandungan antosianin. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi keragaman morfologi dan kandungan antosianin pada braktea spesies pisang dari genus Musa dan Musella. Sampel diambil secara purposive random sampling dengan mempertimbangkan lokasi, jenis, dan fase pertumbuhan. Penelitian bersifat eksploratif sehingga hasil yang didapatkan bersifat deskriptif dan terbuka. Morfologi dianalisis berdasarkan Descriptor for Banana dari IPGRI, sedangkan kandungan antosianin diukur melalui Optical Density (OD) dan parameter warna Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage (CIE) LAB (L*, a*, b*). Hasil menunjukkan variasi morfologi yang signifikan antar spesies dan subspesies pada warna braktea, karakter daun, buah dan batang semu. Kandungan antosianin tertinggi ditemukan pada Musa acuminata subsp. malaccensis, dan terendah pada spesies Musa rubra var.siamensis. Kandungan antosianin berkorelasi positif dengan nilai a* dan negatif terhadap nilai b*, khususnya pada braktea bagian dalam. Perbedaan warna antara braktea dalam dan luar mengindikasikan variasi struktur jaringan dan pigmen. Temuan ini mendukung peluang pemanfaatan braktea pisang sebagai sumber pewarna alami berkelanjutan dan pengembangan studi klasifikasi genom.
       
      Bananas (Musa spp. and Musella spp.) show high morphological diversity, especially in male bract color influenced by anthocyanin content and composition. This study aimed to identify morphological variation and anthocyanin content in banana bracts across selected species. Samples were collected using purposive random sampling based on location, species, and growth stage. Morphology was analyzed using the Descriptor for Banana from IPGRI and anthocyanin content was measured by Optical Density (OD) and Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage (CIE) LAB color parameters (L*, a*, b*). Results revealed notable variation in bract color, leaf, fruit, and pseudostem traits. Musa acuminata subsp. malaccensis had the highest anthocyanin content, while Musa rubra var. siamensis had the lowest. Anthocyanin content showed a positive correlation with a* and a negative correlation with b*, particularly in inner bracts. Color differences between inner and outer bracts suggest tissue and pigment variation. These findings highlight the potential of banana bracts as a sustainable natural dye source and for genomic classification.
