      Abstract

A dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is a third generation solar cell that converts solar energy to electricity through dye absorption. Anthocyanin extracted from butterfly pea blossoms is a potential dye source for DSSC. The DSSC was made up of a working electrode, dye, counter electrode, and electrolyte. The most typically utilized electrolyte was I-/I3- liquid electrolyte, which has the disadvantage of being volatile, lowering the efficiency value of the DSSC. The purpose of this study was to assess the performance of DSSCs generated from butterfly pea flowers by comparing the performance of DSSCs without and with the inclusion of Nafion polymer using two variables: immersion and mixing with TiO2. The mixing treatment with Nafion produces the highest DSSC efficiency, at 0.778%. The mixing treatment in the coloring process shows a greater efficiency value than immersion.
