      Abstract

Information on the influence of genetic factors on the hematological profile of beef cattle remains limited, particularly for wagyu-bali crossbreeds currently being developed in Indonesia. Blood hematology profiles are crucial indicators of livestock health status. This study aimed to analyze the blood hematological profiles of beef cattle from three different breeds: bali, wagyu, and wagyu-bali. The study used secondary data from 18 cattle obtained from two breeding institutions. Data were analyzed using ANOVA for normally distributed variables and the Kruskal-Wallis test for non-normally distributed variables. The variables analyzed included leukocytes, leukocyte differentials, erythrocytes, erythrocyte indices, platelets, and platelet indices. The results showed that cattle breed had a significant effect (P<0,05) on several hematological variables, namely MON, %MON, NEU, RBC, MCV, MCH, and MPV. Wagyu cattle had the highest MON and %MON, while Wagyu-Bali cattle had the highest RBC. Bali cattle showed the highest MCV and MCH values. The results of this study indicate that the hematological profiles of bali, wagyu, and wagyu-bali cattle are different and can be used as a reference for health evaluation and beef cattle breeding programs.
