      Rekayasa Penundaan Penetasan Telur Ulat Sutra Eri dengan Etilen Glikol pada Penyimpanan Refrigerator

      Abstract
      Ulat sutra eri bersifat polivoltine dan tidak mengalami masa diapause. Siklus hidup yang cepat menjadi permasalahan bagi petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh perlakuan penyimpanan dingin dengan etilen glikol pada penetasan telur, daya tetas, mortalitas larva, perkembangan embrio, larva, dan kokon sutra eri (Samia cynthia ricini). Metode pengujian menggunakan perlakuan kontrol dan perlakuan etilen glikol 10% dalam suhu refrigerator (5 ?) dengan lama penyimpanan 7 dan 10 hari. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan durasi penundaan penetasan pada penyimpanan 7 hari perlakuan etilen glikol 10% (1,68±0,67 hari) lebih lama daripada perlakuan kontrol (0,64±0,71 hari). Pada penyimpanan 10 hari perlakuan etilen glikol (5,2±0,71 hari) dapat bertahan lebih lama daripada perlakuan kontrol (4±0 hari). Penggunaan etilen glikol diduga dapat memperlambat waktu penetasan telur ulat sutra eri dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol, meskipun belum optimal penggunaan konsentrasi dan durasi perendamannya.
       
      The eri silkworm is polyvoltine and has no diapause period. The fast life cycle is a problem for farmers. This study aims to analyze the effect of cold storage treatment with ethylene glycol on egg hatching, hatchability, larval mortality, embryo, larvae, and cocoons development of eri silk (Samia cynthia ricini). The test method used control and 10% ethylene glycol treatments in refrigerator temperature (5 ?) with storage duration of 7 and 10 days. The study showed that the average duration of hatching delay at 7 days storage of 10% ethylene glycol treatment (1.68±0.67 days) was longer than the control treatment (0.64±0.71 days). At 10 days storage the ethylene glycol treatment (5.2±0.71 days) was longer than the control treatment (4±0 days). The use of ethylene glycol is thought to slow down the hatching time of eri silkworm eggs compared to the control treatment, although the use of concentration and duration of immersion is not optimal.
