      Abstract

The utilization of lanolin in lip cream formulations is still relatively uncommon. Lip cream is a decorative cosmetic that provides color while also moisturizing the lips for a relatively longer period. It is composed of several main components, including wax, oil, and pigment. A natural ingredient that can be used as a natural colorant in lip cream is the bark of the angsana tree (Pterocarpus indicus). This study aims to analyze the physicochemical and organoleptic characteristics of lanolin lip cream with the addition of angsana bark extract at different concentrations. The study was conducted using concentrations of 0%, 20%, 30%, and 40% of angsana bark extract. The tests included pH, spreadability, adhesion, homogeneity, spreading ability, irritation, moisturization, and organoleptic tests. The results showed that lanolin lip cream with different concentrations of angsana bark extract affected the pH, spreadability, adhesion, and organoleptic characteristics (color, aroma, texture) of the formulation, but did not affect the homogeneity, spreading ability, irritation, or skin moisturization.
