      Validasi Metode Pengukuran 3 Ruas Jari Tengah untuk Menentukan Titik Sayatan pada Penyembelihan Domba Sesuai Prinsip Halal dan Kesejahteraan Hewan

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji metode lebar tiga ruas jari tengah (LTRJT) dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menentukan titik sayatan yang tepat pada penyembelihan domba sesuai dengan persyaratan kehalalan dan prinsip kesejahteraan hewan. Sampel terdiri atas 101 ekor domba ekor gemuk (DEG), 12 ekor domba ekor tipis (DET), dan 9 ekor domba garut (DG). Variabel yang diamati meliputi panjang larynx, bobot badan, umur, jenis kelamin, dan LTRJT pria dewasa. Pada domba berumur kurang dari 1 tahun domba jantan dan betina, rata-rata bobot badan 23,60±3,45 kg, panjang larynx 4,22±0,29 cm, dan LTRJT 5,34±0,23 cm dengan selisih 1,12 cm antara LTRJT dengan panjang larynx. Uji korelasi dan regresi linier dengan SPSS menunjukkan korelasi signifikan bobot badan dan jenis domba terhadap panjang larynx (P<0,05), koefisien determinasi tertinggi pada DG (R2= 0,4069). Berat badan berkorelasi dengan LTRJT (P<0,05; R2= 0,191). Hasil ini menunjukkan LTRJT dapat digunakan sebagai acuan untuk menentukan titik sayatan penyembelihan pada domba.
       
      This study aimed to test of the three middle finger measurement method (LTRJT) as a reference for determining the correct incision site in sheep slaughter in accordance with halal requirements and animal welfare principles. The samples consisted of 101 fat tailed sheep (DEG), 12 thin tailed sheep (DET), and 9 garut sheep (DG). Observed variables included laryngeal length, body weight, age, sex and LTRJT of an adult male hand. In sheep under one year of age, both male and female, the average body weight was 23,60 ± 3,45 kg, the average laryngeal length 4,22 ± 0,29 cm, and the average LTRJT was 5,34 ± 0,23 cm, resulting in a 1,12 cm difference between LTRJT and laryngeal length. Correlation and linear regression analysis using SPSS showed a significant relationship between body weight and sheep breed with larynx length (P<0,05), the highest coefficient of determination (R²= 0,4069) found in DG. The body weight was significantly correlated with LTRJT (P<0,05; R²= 0,191). The LTRJT can be used as a reference for determining the appropriate incision site in sheep slaughter.
