      Karakteristik Karkas dan Non Karkas Puyuh Betina Umur 12 Minggu dengan Pemberian Ekstrak Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides L..)

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik karkas dan non karkas puyuh betina umur 12 minggu yang diberi ekstrak bandotan dalam air minum. Puyuh betina umur 6 minggu sebanyak 160 ekor digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan pemeliharaan selama 6 minggu. Puyuh dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan, penambahan ekstrak bandotan dalam air minum dengan konsentrasi 0,15%, 0,30%, dan 0,45%. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Akhir periode pemeliharaan, puyuh sebanyak 5 ekor perlakuan-1 disembelih untuk menilai karakteristik karkas dan non karkas. Pemberian ekstrak bandotan dalam air minum tidak memengaruhi karakteristik karkas, termasuk berat potong, berat karkas, persentase berat karkas, persentase potongan komersial (dada, paha, sayap, dan punggung), persentase komponen karkas edible dan non edible, dan komponen non karkas dengan puyuh yang diberi air minum tanpa ekstrak bandotan. Simpulan, pemberian ekstrak bandotan dalam air minum puyuh betina umur 12 minggu hingga tarif 0,45% menghasilkan karakteristik karkas tidak berbeda.
       
      This study aimed to analyze the carcass and non-carcass characteristics of 12-week-old female quail administered bandotan extract in their drinking water. One hundred sixty 6-week-old female quails were utilized in this 6-week study. The quails were divided into three treatment groups, receiving bandotan extract in their drinking water at concentrations of 0,15%, 0,30%, and 0,45%. A completely randomized design was employed. At the end of the rearing period, five quails in each treatment were slaughtered to assess their carcass and non-carcass characteristics. The administration of bandotan extract in drinking water did not significantly affect carcass characteristics, including slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, commercial cut percentages (breast, thigh, wing, and back), percentages of edible and non-edible carcass components, or non-carcass components, compared to quail receiving drinking water without bandotan extract. In conclusion, the administration of bandotan extract in the drinking water of 12- week-old female quails, up to a concentration of 0.45%, resulted in no discernible differences in carcass characteristics.
