      Abstract
Domba diangkut sejauh 51 km selama 4 jam (kepadatan 0,16 m² ekor-1), lalu dipelihara selama 26 hari.

Livestock transport is vital but affects animal physiology and productivity. This study evaluated performance female thin-tailed sheep of different ages after short-distance transport on intensive management. Twenty sheep (15,54±2,14 kg) were grouped by age I0 (6–10 months) 8 sheep, I1 (12–22 months) 5 sheep, and I2 (24–30 months) 7 sheep. They transported 51 km for 4 hours (0,16 m² head-1), then kept for 26 days. Parameters included weight loss, physiological response (rectal temperature, respiratory rate and heart rates), recovery, feed intake, average daily gain (ADG), and income over feed cost (IOFC). I0 showed the highest weight loss (P<0,05) 1,53±0,22%, 1,11±0,21% I1 and 0,99±0,16% I2. Physiological responses rose significantly post-transport (P<0,05). I2 had the highest (P<0,05) dry matter intake (275,24±0,42 g head-1 day-1). Recovery time and ADG were similar (6±0,27 days; 76,26±11,67 g head-1 day-1). IOFC became positive on day 6, highest in I2.
