      Efektivitas Pupuk Urea Pada Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays L. Saccharata).

      Abstract
      Tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays L. Saccharata) merupakan tanaman pangan yang banyak diminati masyarakat Indonesia. Tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa Jagung merupakan komoditi besar yang banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat. Hal tersebut menyebabkan perlu dilakukan teknik budidaya yang baik, agar hasil tanaman jagung dapat tetap tinggi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan masyarakat. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan meningkatkan efisiensi pemupukan yang baik agar kebutuhan hara tanaman dapat tercukupi. Pupuk urea adalah salah satu pupuk yang memiliki kandungan nitrogen (N) yang tinggi. Pupuk Urea mengandung unsur nitrogen (N) sebesar 46%. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan IPB Sindangbarang Sabisa Farm, Kota Bogor, Jawa Barat dari bulan November 2023 hingga Januari 2024. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) dengan satu faktor. Perlakuan dosis pupuk disusun dalam 6 taraf pemupukan yaitu: (0) perlakuan kontrol tanpa pupuk NPK dan urea, (1) perlakuan pembanding (NPK standar), (2) perlakuan 0,5 dosis urea, (3) perlakuan 0,75 dosis urea, (4) perlakuan 1 dosis urea, (5) perlakuan 1,5 dosis urea. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perlakuan pemupukan urea uji dan pupuk urea standar menghasilkan pertumbuhan vegetatif lebih baik dibanding perlakuan kontrol. Pada fase generatif, perlakuan P3 (0,75 dosis urea) mencukupi tingkat evektifitas agronomi relatif (EAR) dengan nilai sebesar 108,70%. Angka ini lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan standar P2 (N standar), yang memiliki nilai EAR sebesar 100%.
       
      Sweet corn (Zea mays L. Saccharata) is a staple crop widely favored by the Indonesian population. Corn is an essential commodity that is highly consumed, making it necessary to implement effective cultivation techniques to maintain high yields and meet food demands. One approach to achieving this is optimizing fertilizer efficiency to ensure adequate nutrient supply for plant growth. Urea fertilizer is considered effective in increasing crop yields and improving efficiency in large-scale farming. Urea is a nitrogen-rich fertilizer, containing 46% nitrogen (N). This study was conducted at the IPB Sindangbarang Sabisa Farm Experimental Garden, Bogor, West Java, from November 2023 to January 2024. A Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with one factor was used in the experiment. The fertilizer dosage treatments were arranged into six levels: (0) control treatment without NPK and urea fertilizers, (1) standard N treatment, (2) 0.5 dose of test fertilizer, (3) 0.75 dose of test fertilizer, (4) 1 dose of test fertilizer, and (5) 1.5 dose of test fertilizer. The results of this study showed that both the tested urea fertilizer and the standard urea fertilizer treatments resulted in better vegetative growth compared to the control treatment. During the generative phase, the P3 treatment (0.75 dose of urea) achieved a relative agronomic effectiveness (RAE) of 108.70%, which is higher than the standard treatment P2 (standard N treatment) with an RAE value of 100%.
