      Keragaman Morfologi A. cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae) di Pulau Sumatra.

      Abstract
      Lebah Apis cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae) merupakan lebah madu yang tersebar luas di Indonesia termasuk Sumatra. Kondisi geografis Sumatra yang beragam (pegunungan, dataran tinggi, perbukitan dan dataran rendah) dapat mempengaruhi karakter morfologi A. cerana. Keragaman morfologi tersebut sebagai bentuk adaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungannya. Penelitian mengenai morfologi A. cerana pada ketinggian berbeda di Sumatra belum dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi keragaman morfologi A. cerana di beberapa lokasi dengan ketinggian berbeda di Sumatra yaitu Aceh, Sumatra Utara, Jambi, Sumatra Barat, Sumatra Selatan, dan Lampung. Sebanyak 39 koloni A. cerana dari dataran tinggi dan rendah diuji menggunakan metode morfometrik tradisional. Sampel diidentifikasi berdasarkan 15 parameter morfometrik. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis menggunakan Program R Studio. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) digunakan untuk melihat plot persebaran A. cerana di setiap lokasi menggunakan Paleontological Statistic Software (PAST). Hasil analisis menunjukkan 15 parameter yang diuji terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara A. cerana dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah. Lebah A. cerana dataran tinggi cenderung lebih besar ukuranya dibandingkan A. cerana dataran rendah, kecuali bagian probosis. Analisis kekerabatan antar lebah menggunakan metode Neighbor-Joining menunjukkan terdapat pengelompokan A. cerana berdasarkan ketinggian tertentu. Analisis multivariat menunjukkan terdapat korelasi dari berbagai karakter morfologi yang diuji.
       
      Apis cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae) are widely distributed honey bees throughout Indonesia, including Sumatra. The diverse geographical conditions of Sumatra (mountains, highlands, hills, and lowlands) can influence the morphological characteristics of A. cerana. This morphological diversity represents an adaptation to the environmental conditions. Research on the morphology of A. cerana at different altitudes in Sumatra has not yet been conducted. This study was aimed to determine morphological diversity A. cerana from several Sumatra regions, including Aceh, North Sumatra, Jambi, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, and Lampung. Thirty-nine A. cerana colonies from both highland and lowland were analyzed using traditional morphometric methods. Samples were identified based on 15 morphometric parameters. Data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis tests through the R Studio program. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to plot distribution of A. cerana in each location using the Paleontological Statistics Software (PAST). Results indicated significant differences in 15 parameters between A. cerana lowland and highland areas. Apis cerana from highland shows higher measurement compared to those from lowland. Analysis of the relationship among the bees using the Neighbor-Joining method revealed clustering of A. cerana based on specific altitudes. Multivariate analysis showed correlation among the morphological characters tested.
