      Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Media Sosial dan Interaksi Orang Tua-Anak terhadap Perkembangan Sosial-Emosional Remaja

      Abstract
      Capaian perkembangan sosial-emosional merupakan aspek penting dalam kehidupan sosial remaja. Namun, periode perkembangan ini sering kali ditandai dengan ketidakseimbangan dan ketidakstabilan emosi. Kebebasan dalam mengakses media sosial saat ini dikaitkan dengan berbagai tantangan perkembangan yang mungkin terjadi, termasuk masalah mental-emosional seperti kecemasan, stres, dan depresi pada remaja. Selain itu, faktor orangtua, terutama kualitas interaksi orangtua-remaja dapat secara signifikan memengaruhi perkembangan sosial dan emosional remaja. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh karakteristik remaja, karakteristik keluarga, intensitas penggunaan media sosial, dan interaksi orang tua-anak terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan survei online terhadap 105 responden yang merupakan siswa kelas XI IPA dan IPS di SMAN 6 Kota Bogor dan SMAN 3 Kota Bogor, yang tinggal bersama kedua orangtua kandungnya. Analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis deskriptif, uji korelasi, dan uji regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dengan interaksi orang tua-anak, serta hubungan positif antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dengan perkembangan sosial-emosional remaja. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi rata-rata penggunaan media sosial per hari, maka intensitas penggunaan media sosialnya juga akan semakin meningkat. Selain itu, interaksi orang tua-anak berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional remaja.
       
      The achievement of social-emotional development is a critical aspect of adolescents’ social lives. However, this developmental period is often marked by emotional imbalance and instability. The widespread accessibility of social media during this era has been linked to potential developmental challenges, including mental-emotional issues such as anxiety, stress, and depression. In addition, parental factors, particularly the quality of parent-adolescent interactions, can significantly influence adolescents' social and emotional development. This study investigates the effects of adolescent characteristics, family characteristics, social media usage intensity, and parent-child interactions on adolescents’ social-emotional development. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing an online survey of 105 respondents from 11th-grade science and social science students at SMAN 6 Bogor City and SMAN 3 Bogor City, all of whom live with both biological parents. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, correlation testing, and multiple linear regression. The findings revealed a positive relationship between the intensity of social media use and parent-child interactions, as well as a positive association between social media usage intensity and adolescents’ social-emotional development. The results also indicated that higher average daily social media usage correlates with increased intensity of social media use. Furthermore, improved parent-child interactions were associated with better social-emotional development outcomes among adolescents. Importantly, parent-child interactions were found to have a significant positive influence on adolescents’ social-emotional development.
