      Vegetasi di Sekitar Lokasi Persarangan Buatan dan Keanekaragaman Tipe Polen dalam Madu serta Polen Sarang Lebah Apis dorsata di Pulau Belitung

      Abstract
      Kehadiran lebah Apis dorsata di suatu lokasi persarangan dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan sumber pakan. Jenis-jenis tumbuhan sumber pakan yang digunakan A. dorsata dapat diketahui melalui identifikasi polen dalam madu dan sarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman tumbuhan sumber pakan lebah hutan A. dorsata di Desa Jangkang, Kabupaten Belitung Timur dan Desa Badau, Kabupaten Belitung melalui analisis vegetasi sekitar sunggau dan analisis palinologi. Analisis vegetasi sekitar sunggau menggunakan metode plot bersarang. Analisis palinologi dilakukan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman tipe polen pada sampel madu dan polen sarang. Preparasi sampel madu dan polen sarang dilakukan menggunakan metode asetolisis, tipe polen yang dijumpai dihitung frekuensi kehadirannya dalam 1200 butir polen, lalu diidentifikasi serta diklasifikasikan dalam kategori kelas frekuensi. Hasil analisis vegetasi menunjukkan kekayaan taksa tumbuhan di sekitar sunggau meliputi 40 spesies, 19 famili di Desa Badau dan 26 spesies, 17 famili di Desa Jangkang. Hasil analisis palinologi menunjukkan tumbuhan sumber pakan yang digunakan A. dorsata pada periode penelitian terdiri atas 7 spesies di Jangkang dan 14 spesies di Badau. Baeckea frutescents dan Eleocarpus stipularis merupakan tipe polen perdominan dan sekunder dalam sampel madu dan polen sarang dari sunggau di Desa Jangkang, sampel dari Badau memiliki tipe polen predominan dan sekunder yaitu Elaeis guineensis dan Ilex. cymosa.
       
      Giant forest honey bee (Apis dorsata) migrate to a nesting site influenced by the the availability plants as a food sources. The plants used for nectar and pollen sources by the bees can be identified through palynology. This study aimed to identify the plants used for the nectar and pollen sources by the giant bees, (A. dorsata), in Jangkang, East Belitung Regency, and Badau, Belitung Regency. The vegetation surrounding the sunggau was analysed using a nested plot method. The samples of honey and bee pollen were collected from nests and prepared using acetolysis method. The observed pollen types were counted within 1200 pollen grains, then identified and classified. The taxa richness of vegetation surrounding the sunggau were 40 species from 19 families in Badau and 26 species from 17 families in Jangkang. The palynology analysis showed that the plants used as food resources by A. dorsata during the study period were consisted of 7 species in Jangkang and 14 species in Badau. The honey and bee pollen samples from Jangkang contain predominat and secondery pollen type of Baeckea frutescens and Eleocarpus stipularis, samples from Badau contain predominat and secondery pollen type of Elaeis guineensis and Ilex cymosa, respectively.
