      Pemanfaatan Kotoran Rusa dan Serasah di Hutan Penelitian Dramaga Sebagai Kompos

      Abstract
      Kompos merupakan salah satu pupuk organik yang terbuat dari bahan-bahan organik seperti sisa tanaman, kotoran hewan, dan sisa limbah yang akan melalui proses dekomposisi dengan bantuan organisme hidup. Hutan Penelitian Dramaga dalam kegiatan pengelolaannya menghasilkan limbah/sampah tiap harinya yang didominasi oleh kotoran rusa dan serasah. Maka dari itu, salah satu cara mereduksi limbah di HP Dramaga melalui pembuatan kompos. Kompos dibuat dengan bantuan bioaktivator EM4 dengan variasi bahan yang berbeda, yaitu PA (serasah), PB (kotoran rusa), dan PC (kotoran rusa + serasah). Tujuan penelitian ini ialah membuat kompos dari kotoran rusa dan serasah, serta menganalisis kuantitas dan kualitas kompos yang dihasilkan berdasarkan kandungan unsur hara (N, P, K) dengan menggunakan metode standar pengujian kompos. Hasil dari penelitian ini, kompos yang dibuat selama 5 minggu belum matang sepenuhnya, mengakibatkan hasil kandungan unsur hara (N, P, K) setiap perlakuan menjadi rendah. Berdasarkan penelitian, potensi HP Dramaga dalam sebulan dapat memproduksi kompos PA sebanyak 24,36 kg, kompos PB sebanyak 315,9 kg, dan kompos PC sebanyak 384,56 kg.
       
      Compost is an organic fertilizer made from organic materials such as plant waste, animal waste, and waste that will go through a decomposition process with the help of living organisms. Dramaga Research Forest in its management activities produces waste/garbage every day which is dominated by deer feces and litter. Therefore, one way to reduce waste in HP Dramaga is through composting. Compost is made with the help of EM4 bioactivator with different variations of materials, namely PA (litter), PB (deer feces), and PC (deer feces + litter). The purpose of this study was to make compost from deer feces and litter, and to analyze the quantity and quality of the compost produced based on the nutrient content (N, P, K) using standard compost testing methods. The results of this study, the compost made for 5 weeks was not fully mature, resulting in low nutrient content (N, P, K) for each treatment. Based on research, the potential of HP Dramaga in a month can produce 24.36 kg of PA compost, 315.9 kg of PB compost, and 384.56 kg of PC compost.
