      Produktivitas Ulat Sutra Eri (Samia cynthia ricini) Galur Prasojo dengan Pakan Berbeda

      Abstract
      Ulat sutra Eri (Samia cynthia ricini) dari famili Saturniidae merupakan ulat sutra yang bersifat polifagus dan umumnya hidup di wilayah yang sejuk. Galur sintetik Prasojo diciptakan agar dapat beradaptasi dan menghasilkan produktivitas yang lebih baik pada iklim tropis Indonesia. Produksi daun singkong yang melimpah dengan jenis yang berbeda-beda di Indonesia sangat potensial untuk dijadikan sebagai pakan ulat sutra eri. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis produktivitas ulat S. c. ricini galur Prasojo dengan pakan berbeda yaitu Manihot utilissima dan Manihot glaziovii. Perbedaan produktivitas kedua jenis pakan tersebut dianalisis menggunakan uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ulat sutra eri yang diberi pakan M. utilissima memiliki hasil yang lebih tinggi pada konsumsi pakan ulat instar besar, panjang, lebar, dan berat larva, fase ulat yang lebih singkat, mortalitas yang lebih rendah, persentase produksi kokon lebih tinggi, serta bobot kokon utuh yang lebih besar dibandingkan pakan M. glaziovii. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, produktivitas ulat sutra eri dengan pemberian pakan M. utilissima lebih baik dibandingkan M. glaziovii.
       
      The Eri silkworm (Samia cynthia ricini) from the Saturniidae family is a polyphagous silkworm that generally lives in cool regions. The synthetic Prasojo strain was created to adapt and produce better productivity in the tropical climate of Indonesia. The abundant production of cassava leaves with various types in Indonesia is very potential as feed for eri silkworms. This study aims to analyze the productivity of the S. c. ricini Prasojo strain with different feeds, namely Manihot utilissima and Manihot glaziovii. The productivity differences of these two types of feed were analyzed using a T-test. The results showed that eri silkworms fed with M. utilissima had higher outcomes in terms of feed consumption of larger instar larvae, as well as greater length, width, and weight of larvae, a shorter larval phase, lower mortality, a higher cocoon production percentage, and a larger whole cocoon weight compared to those fed with M. glaziovii. Based on this, the productivity of eri silkworms with M. utilissima feed is better than with M. glaziovii.
