Evaluasi Keragaan dan Uji Daya Hasil Jagung Manis Hibrida IPB
Abstract
Evaluasi keragaan dan daya hasil suatu varietas sangat penting dalam perakitan varietas unggul. Institut Pertanian Bogor telah memiliki berbagai galur hibrida jagung manis, tetapi belum diperoleh informasi mengenai keragaan dan daya hasilnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh informasi keragaan dan daya hasil jagung manis hibrida IPB. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Bandar Agung, Bandar Sribawono, Lampung Timur, Lampung sejak bulan November sampai Februari 2024. Penelitian menguji 17 galur hibrida jagung manis IPB dan 3 varietas hibrida pembanding Secada, Talenta, dan Bonanza. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) faktor tunggal genotipe dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 60 satuan percobaan. Pada setiap satuan percobaan terdapat 20 tanaman. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji F dan dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata dengan taraf 5% serta dilakukan analisis korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, tinggi tongkol, lebar daun, panjang tongkol berbiji, diameter tongkol, bobot tongkol berkelobot, bobot tongkol tanpa kelobot, potensi hasil, jumlah baris biji, dan padatan terlarut total di antara galur hibrida IPB dengan varietas pembanding. Institut Pertanian Bogor has developed various hybrid sweet corn lines; however, comprehensive data regarding the agronomic performance and yield potential are limited. This study aims to elucidate the agronomic performance and yield potential of IPB hybrid sweet corn lines. The research was conducted in Bandar Agung Village, Bandar Sribawono, East Lampung, from November to February 2024. The study tested 17 IPB sweet corn hybrid lines and 3 comparative hybrid varieties; Secada, Talenta, and Bonanza. The study was carried out in a single-factor randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications, resulting in 60 experimental units, each comprising 20 plants. Data were subjected to F-test and significant differences were determined at a 5% significance level, along with correlation analysis. Results indicated significant variations in plant height, stem diameter, ear placement height, leaf width, kernel ear length, ear diameter, husked ear weight, dehusked ear weight, yield potential, number of kernel rows, and total soluble solids among the IPB hybrid lines and the commercial checks.
