      Abstract
      Pemanfaatan limbah sekam padi sebagai bahan baku silika untuk sintesis material mesopori, khususnya Santa Barbara Amorphous-15 (SBA-15) yang menawarkan solusi inovatif terhadap masalah lingkungan dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan pre-treatment pada sekam padi yaitu furnace dan non furnace terhadap hasil sintesis SBA-15. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pre-treatment sekam padi, preparasi SiO2, dan sintesis SBA-15 metode yang digunakan adalah metode sol-gel yang melibatkan prekursor silika, surfaktan P123, dan kalsinasi pada suhu tinggi. Hasil XRF menunjukkan kemurnian SiO2 dari furnace (96,585%) lebih tinggi dibandingkan non furnace (95,746%). XRD menunjukkan pola difraksi heksagonal dengan 3 puncak difraksi. SEM menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan furnace memberikan kontrol lebih baik terhadap ukuran dan distribusi pori dibandingkan non furnace. Perlakuan furnace pada memiliki kualitas yang lebih baik dibandingkan non furnace.
       
      Utilization of rice husk waste as silica raw material for the synthesis of mesoporous materials, especially Santa Barbara Amorphous-15 (SBA-15), which offers innovative solutions to environmental and economic problems. This research aims to determine the effect of pre-treatment on rice husks, namely furnace and non-furnace, on the results of SBA-15 synthesis. The methods used include rice husk pre-treatment, SiO2 preparation, and SBA-15 synthesis. The method used is a sol gel method involving silica precursors, P123 surfactant, and calcination at high temperatures. XRF results show that the purity of SiO2 from the furnace (96.585%) is higher than non-furnace (95.746%). XRD shows a hexagonal diffraction pattern with 3 diffraction peaks. SEM shows that furnace treatment provides better control over pore size and distribution compared to non-furnace treatment. Furnace treatment has better quality than non furnace treatment.
