      Abstract

PT Cahaya Buana Intitama faces a problem the design of the Bigrich 811 chair has not yet applied ergonomic principles for finishing operators. This issue is significant because non-ergonomic working conditions can negatively impact operators' health and reduce production effectiveness. To address this problem, the author analyzed body posture, conducted time measurements, and performed anthropometric surveys and productivity measurements. The methods used included motion study and principles of motion economy. The project implementation began with creating a flowchart of the production process for the finishing operators' chairs. The second stage involved designing a new chair with specifications of 77 cm height, 48 cm width, and 40 cm backrest height. The next stage was the assembly of the chair according to ergonomic principles. Testing and evaluation were conducted to ensure all basic functions of the chair worked well, including load testing (averaging 60 to 80 kg) and usability assessment. The final stage was evaluation and reporting.
