      Abstract

Tilapia is a freshwater fish that is easily found in Indonesia. The purpose of this applied research isto evaluate the effect of different feeding ratesfor the growth of nirwana tilapia Oreochromis niloticus Bleeker fry. The treatments were 10%, 15% and 20% feeding rate (FR) using a completely randomized complete block design (CRS) with 3 replications of each treatment. The feed given used commercial feed, nirwana tilapia seeds used weighed 5,43 ± 0,67 g and length 6,93 ± 0,18 cm which were maintained in an aquarium measuring (110 x 50 x 50) cm3 ,feeding was done 1 day 3 times. Sampling was done by measuring the parameters of specific growth rate, absolute growth rate, survival and feed efficiency. The highest growth results were obtained in the absolute weight growth parameter in the 20% treatment with a result of 1,95 ± 0,18 g and absolute length growth in the 20% treatment with a result of 2.71 ± 0.12 cm. However, a FR 10% can be given to nirvana tilapia seeds because the absolute weight parameter obtained the results of 1,29 ± 0,40 and the absolute length parameter obtained the results of 1,62 ± 0,36 cm.
